Hello to everybody
first of all forgive my bad english, I'm from Italy.
In 1980 I bought an acoustic Ibanez (I was only 14 at the time) guitarfront
Now I'd like to know what model is.
Googleing around the net I found this site and a bunch of others. Looking at the guitar it does seems a 2846, but the label inside says Ibanez Vintage model no. 58598 Made in Japan guitarlabel At the lower right it says HT-75-121.
The back in 3 pieces guitarback
this is the headstock (is it right?) guitarheadstock
The series number is 76X604 (the X is a number that I can't read, possibly no number?)
The other one Ibanez I Have is an electric one. I bought her in 1983 from a friend.
guitarfrontele
guitarfrontele2
I think is a blazer guitarhead you can read it eh eh. guitarhead a detail guitarhead2
this is the plate number guitarplate
it says H820298, so this is the 298th guitar made in August 1982. I suppose it's the BL100TV. There 3 single coil, 1 volume control, 1 tone control, a 5 way posistions switch and a phaser.
So What acoustic guitar do I have? a 2846?
Am I right about the electric?
At the end, I know that the value can't be so high, except for me, but how much could be?
Thanks to everybody
Gianluca

Gianluca,

Your acoustic is a 1976 model 2846, as you guessed. I assume that when you bought it in 1980 it was used, right? Just checking. I don't think Ibanez was still selling this guitar in 1980.

hi chazmo
It wasn't used, it was abandoned in this little store I went with a friend of mine.
I was young and with not so much money to spend, it costed me only 120.000 italian Lire (60 Euros more than less)
Thanks

Well, I guess the store had been unable to sell it for several years. I heard a similar story from Wolfgang about a first series Artwood in Germany (sometime later than yours) that didn't sell for something like 8 years or so. Unbelievable.

Anyway, it's a terrific guitar you've got, and really the top of the acoustic line from mid-70s Ibanez, Gianluca. Enjoy it.
