Æ’745.- in 2000. Back and sides: laminated Indian rosewood. Top: laminated spruce.
My José Rodriguez 1015 was twice as expensive in 1999. In those days the 1010 and 1015 had a Shadow piezo and EQ. Nowadays it's Fishman. (€819.-).

So maybe the electronics are good, but acoustically you mustn't expect too much of a laminated guitar. The Spanish brands are much better: Alhambra, Cuenca, Esteve, Prudencio Saez, José Rodriguez.

Those Performance Classics (PC) are like the Performance Folk (PF) a low end range. Ibanez classical guitar become interesting when there's an S behind the model number (for Solid top). I find Æ’745.- too much, because in those days you could buy a Chinese Motion CE guitar for Æ’199-299.

If I look at the price and the materials, the PC344 NCE looks like a compromise guitar too me. At that price I think I would regret every day, that I hadn't spend a little more on a solid top.

You know... that feeling of "net niet"... just not it.

Hi Ginger, thanks for your thoughts,
I'm not looking for this model i only saw it in the 2000 folder .
Its China made so a no go..but it is a nice looking guitar and its Purple.. ;-)

I found a great solution, the Steve Vai classical-Electric photo posted overhere gave me this idea and inspiration.

In a couple months a classical electric ibanez mod will arrive.
As base i'm using an in very bad shape 1988 Japan made Ibanez AE450 (tremelo) acoustic which was modded and felt apart, its was laying uopstairs for years untouched.
It will come back to life.

So guys don't laugh, all my mods cme out excellent.

the Mod wil be:
* New Top.
* New Bracing
* New Binding on Top
* Satin Lacquer
* New Scarf Joint Classical Headstock,custom made
(with ibanez Logo)
* Beautiful Classical Tuners.
* New Bridge.
* Top quality electronics.
* Perfect set up.

The guitar has an incredible playing neck.
So its worth modding .

here are some Before pics.

Hey, I see that the ICW doesn't eat my ASCII codes for Dutch guilders (Alt-159) and Euros (Alt-0128). O.K., so we're back to Hfl and EUR then.

The prices were guilders, except for the actual price of that Rodriguez (Jose with an accent egu, you know Alt-130).

Pat, were did you get the info that this PC model was from China, and if it's true, does this go for every PF model in 2000 too?

€ is AltGr-E . Well, it depends on your keyboard, character set and language settings but the right Unicode setting understands it.

Artfield,

Are you planning to make a resonator out of this guitar?

Chazmo now it was a kind of resonator dobro...which despite the dedicated effort of the modder didn't work that well. he gave it to me......now it will be modded tp a nylon string acuostic electric.

Ginger i can always make it an aquarium....

guys don't laugh...wait 3 months...
