The boys came out for a drink tonight, and I took a few pix. :-) Seven guitars, no waiting. :-)

New England weather is doing its weird thing, and I cranked the humidifier this evening.

Happy holidays, folks.

Hey Chazmo, did you see the AW1400 on Fleebay (2nd choice, no factory warranty I understand).

Ebay Item #270190564167

but solid rosewood for $372-500 seems a steal.
20 minutes to go!

Nice axe, Ginger. I think if I were going to pop for a recent Ibanez, I'd go for one of the EW series. Some of those wood laminates are very cool. Zebrawood, padauk, etc. There's a new 12-string model that's very cool.

Unbelievable...
Bidding has ended.
0 bids for a solid rosewood guitar with a solid Engelman spruce top!
Not even that lousy $372.-!

I would only spring if it were made in Japan. Just my preference. I haven't like the playability of any recent acoustic by Ibanez for quite a while. That is why I still use the trusty Ragtime.... I wish we could see a Tama vine or Artwood vine reissue...from Japan. Let's see a J-Custom Acoustic!!!!!

Solid rosewood AND from Japan? For $372.-? Good luck!

This guitar is so special (because of its material) that it is NOT even on the Dutch pricelist:
http://www.hoshinobenelux.eu/prijzen/Ibanez2007.pd f

These materials PLUS Japanese hours would make this guitar worth about $2250.-
On this one you pay Chinese hours, so the list price is $1200,- (they say, I haven't checked). Let's say you get a good 25% discount, and the going price would still be what? Still $899.-!

Of course the buyer should first communicate about the "issues", why this one is 2nd choice. If it's only a little play wear... so what?
It's different when they glued the bridge on a wrong spot (I discovered that issue once on a Cort Earth-1000 that I would have bought without that issue, but the distributor's luthier didn't manage to get it right, luckily I found that Sigma SDR-41 a few months later, which is even a better brand).

I think I have only 3 solid rosewood guitars in my collection, except from a few mandolins...

Ginger, I think the AW-1400 is a dead model (it might be several years ago). You wouldn't see it in the 2007 catalog. They've renumbered the Artwoods (yet again!) recently. The AW-800 series is now the solid wood model, I think.

But, anyway, I tend to agree that these are exceptional bargains.

I like cmangeot's idea... Maybe someday we'll see a re-issue series 1 Artwood acoustic, like an AW-100, 120, 160, or 200! That would be something amazingly special
