1981 V320, I love it!!

I just joined the site because after many years of owning American made guitars I've finally given up on finding one that sounds as good as my 81 V320. My serial number on the label inside the sound hole is 81060986H but on the wooden block that reinforces the neck on the inside of the guitar there is a different number that reads 810506. (see the end of this: http://www.ibanezcollectors.com/discus/messages/11 /1801.html?1196210643) Teestodd, I think that the necks of these guitars were built and stocked independently of the guitar bodies. The branding on the neck seems to be a sequential neck numbering. The guitar's serial number probably encodes the date of manufacture of the body of the guitar, but honestly that encoding is not perfectly clear. We've seen a couple of examples of a neck brand that indicates the year earlier than the serial number.
