I've got a line on a 1978 Artwood Series model AW-60, with a solid spruce top, rosewood fretboard and bridge, and mahogany sides and back (according to the owner). Two questions: Is it a good player? And, what's a good price for it. I'd have to drive about 50 miles to get it, but then, I don't mind driving for a nice guitar. It comes with its original case too:

I found the AW-60 in the 1979 acoustic catalog, and it appears to be the lower end model to the AW-70 and AW-100, but here are its specs. I like the idea that the fretboard is ebony, not rosewood:

AW-60

Top: Solid Sitka Spruce
Rims and Back: Solid Mahogany
Fingerboard: Ebony
Bridge: Ebony (Tru-Tone Saddle)
Pickguard: Solid Rosewood
Bridge/End Pins: Boxwood
Machine Heads: Chrome VelveTune 18:1 ratio

Hi. Yes, it is a good player. I got two of these (look: http://kreativ-lab.de/artwood/originale.html ). Here in Germany you should pay about 300 to 500 Euro for one in good or fine condition include the original case. They are really rare and hard to find. Good luck from Germany.

Grab it!!!! You'll love it. Look for cracks in the mahogany in the back around the neck (dehydration).

That guitar looks to be very nice.

(by the way, I think the fingerboard and bridge are ebony, not rosewood, but I'm not sure on the -60)
