Could someone please help me identify an Ibanez Artwood Acoustic that does not have a model number. It resembles a 000 style model with a vintage looking spruce top, white binding with 3 stripes that goes all around the guitar also vintage looking. Binding on the neck is white with black markers. The fretboard has 1/4" pearl type markers. The neck looks like maple. The headstock also has white binding around it with a dark rosewood veneer with Ibanez on top w/ an AW in the center both in pearl. It has original Grover tuners. The string pins and endpin are white with a black dot. I tried to add an Ebay ad that I have on right now but it does go to it. It is titled Ibanez Artwood Acoustic.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

I forgot to include the serial number stamped inside below the soundhole (9605326).

Paul:

From the serial number I'd say it was a 1996 model. I don't have a '96 catalog. However, the '98 catalog shows the AC300 model and it looks a lot like your's. The AC stands for Concert style body. It says the top is solid sitka spruce, the body is rosewood and the neck mahogany.

Are there some other features that make you feel this guitar is a limited addition?

I have looked at lots of Ibanez acoustics online and have not seen another one like it. They never seem to have binding around the headstock. There don't seem to be many models with Grover tuners or the antique looking finish. It's probably not a limited edition but a higher end model at least. Are there older catalogs online somewhere that could help me identify it? I'm trying to sell it but it's hard to advertise it if you don't even know the year or model number.

Paul:

You have to use the following line for each image:

\image{description}

Just copy and paste it into your message. You can change the word "description" to another word that helps you remember what picture is supposed to appear there. (Don't use spaces or special characters in the description text.)

Then make sure that your image files are 50k or less in size.

Look at the following message for more information:

You're missing the curly braces that surround the description text.

I must be stupid or something but how do you actually upload the images? Is it done before you preview it or on the preview page? The help page doesn't specify. It says that you are prompted after you post but what happens next?
Thanks,
Paul

Paul, your guitar is a Artwood AC300NT, its made from a select soild spruce top with mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard and bridge with chrome Grover tuners.

As you will see from the scan from my 1996 catalogue, there is also showing the AC900AN model, same top as the 300, but with rosewood back and sides abolone binding and abolone snowflake inlays and gold grover tuners.

The AC300NT used to retail for $599.00 and the AC900AN was $699.00 here in Australia in 1996.

Here's the catalogue scan

Thank you very much for the info. That is definitely the one. Do you know if US prices were similar to Australian prices for this instrument? Do you think $300 is a fair price for this guitar today?
Thanks again for helping me out. I couldn't find information anywhere else.
Paul
