Author Message Cat Username: Cat Registered: 03-2006 Posted on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 - 5:29 pm:    I have an Ibanez acoustic that I think is from the mid- to late-70s era. The label inside says "Ibanez Champion", Model C300BS, and "Made in Japan". I can't seem to find anything on the net about a Champion model and I've searched for a few weeks. Is anyone familiar with this guitar? It is in near perfect condition with only one light scratch on the back, and the fret board has slipped a half inch or so(I'm guessing the glue melted). It's been store for nearly 30 years. Any one familiar with this guitar and/or what it might be valued at? I would like to sell it but don't know where to start. I would say that the "C" stands for Champion series, like "V" stands for Vintage. Is there a serial number on the label or on the inside of the neck block? The label inside says "Handmade to exacting standards in Japan" (or close to it-didn't bring the pics to the ofc) and includes "Model No:" and the model is stamped. I'll check the neck block, but don't remember seeing anything. I've checked hundreds of other sites and only find a passing reference from a Jazz artist (Eisenbeil) who used a 20-year old Ibanez Champion in a recording (interview in 2001). Inside the body, on one of the braces, is stamped "90515", but nothing else. The label does not include a serial number either. The C is for Champion and the BS is for the type of wood it made of, which I don't recall offhand. He had bought his new around 1980 if her recalls right. The number stamped on his was 90516. One number difference. I too found the Eisenbeil thread, but that was about it except a dealer sight in Spain. I spent hours reading this board to try to find some answers. I had been trying to find out what it was worth in order to sell it. It was in mint condition and it sold on Ebay in January for $450. I still have the pictures if anyone would like to see them.
