I'm unable to find any information on the internet and due to that and to the fact that the equalizer is in such a strange place, i was wondering if it is a regular production model or some kind of prototype:Does anybody have some information? It's a 1993 AE500CW. Definitely a production model, not a prototype. I'm not sure why the model number on your label has an "I" at the beginning. The "E" after the "500" might stand for "Electric". Here's a picture of the AE500CW production model from the 1992 German catalog: Here's the specs: Top: Spruce (laminate) Sides/Back: Mahogany Fingerboard: Rosewood Bridge: Rosewood Tuners: Chrome/Die-cast Active EQ: 3-band Colors: Natural (NT), Cherry Wine (CW) Hope this helps! Jchester : The weird location for the controls is probably due to the fact that the body thickness is less than 5 cm (2 inch). On the regular location on the side of the guitar, an active control just wouldn't fit.
