I have a Ragtime Cutaway made around '81-82 which is all Mahogany. Brighter sound than the traditional rosewood/spruce top dreadnought. The M342 is the 12 string version of the M340. I'm in the process of getting my '82-'83 Ibanez Acoustic catalog scanned. I'll post that page here when I do. JohnS, is that your M342? I would like to find one of those for myself. The catalog I have shows the M342 only in Traditional Violin, but that natural one would go better with my NW-40 six string. You're right about the "M" standing for Maple. This series morphed into the NW series. "NW" stands for Natural Wood. Since finding out about these acoustics, I have acquired an '83 NW40 and an '81 M340TV. Mine's an '80, solid spruce top, maple everywhere else. But I've had to give up playing it b/c of the dreaded carpel tunnel problem. So I'd rather see it go to someone who'll enjoy playing it than have it sitting around here. I think $350 shipped anywhere in the lower 48 is a pretty reasonable price. I'm amazed that they were still using those cr**py tuners as late as '82-'83.
