I bought my Tama guitar in 1973 and have loved and played it ever since. It sounds better and better with age. But now I want to know more about its roots. First of all, I'm unsure of the model number, the numbers I can see are 73061276, ( I assume a serial #), and the other one is on the inside near the base of the neck. It is 3554 S. Is there some other place I might find a model number, or is this it?
I'm pretty sure the body style is called "concert", It's smaller than many dreadnaught style guitars...It has a spruce top, rosewood back and sides with an some mother of pearl inlay at the joints (but not on the fretboard). The back is sort of concave...deeper towards the bridge than the neck. The pick-guard is black standard Martin style, not the Ibanez flared shape.
Does anyone out there have one of these guitars and know any more than I do? Do you love it? Is it worth any money? I paid $260.00 for it with the hardshell case in 1973. Any and all information will be appreciated! Thanks.
