I hope someone here can tell me something about the age and or value of a guitar I recently bought at a flea market. Its an Ibanez model 70 classical. Its in excellent condition, Has a dark back and sides, looks like a spruce top, has a small round black and yellow inlay design around the sound hole. Has a paper label fully intact inside that states its made by Ibanez and says Model 70. I showed it to a couple of local guitarists and they said they had never seen an Ibanez that old and didnt know anything about it. Any info about the age or value would be greatly appreciated. Surely its at least worth the 12 bucks I paid for it. Thanks

Need the serial number to determine the build date. $12.00? Unless there is something seriously wrong with it, that was a screaming deal!

Cheers
Steve

Steve:

Have you checked inside on the neck block for the serial number?

Neck block, I guess that means inside the body? I have looked all over and cant find a serial number. I should have mentioned earlier that I dont play guitar and am not familiar with all the terminology. I did take it to a guitar store to buy some new strings for it, since I posted the first message, and asked the clerk if he knew anything about it. He said it was just an everyday, run of the mill guitar, but he kept wanting to buy it. He offered 150.00 for it and said I was crazy if I didnt take him up on it. I just didnt feel right selling it without knowing something more about it. I will show it to a friend that plays when he gets off the road and maybe he can help me find the serial #.
Many Thanks...Steve
