Bought my NW350AM in 1984 or '85, mostly based on how it looked. It took 20 years to open up, but sounds a lot better now than when new.

Can't find any production numbers on it, or a record of its serial number. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Does anybody else have one of these? It's all birdseye maple sides and back, spruce top, more ivoroid edge binding and purfling than you can shake a stick at. It has a "2" stamped between the last two frets; might this be a factory second? I'll take any help i can get, Thanks!

Hi Bisley45.
The guitar you have is part of the Natural Wood series from the mid 80's. The AM stands for Amber. If it has a 2 stamped in it then it is a "factory second" this will mean that it has a finish flaw or there is a problem with the finish on the neck as far as the sanding of the neck goes.If you are looking for the serial number , then I suggest that you look inside the soundhole at the base of the neck, there you will find something like this : E8512345. This translates into : E = May 85 = 1985, 12 = day of month built, 345 = 345 guitar built for that month.

Hope this info helps.

Keep on Rockin'

Cameron
