Jonathan:

For some reason, there aren't a lot of Ibanez Acoustic experts around to answer questions in this section.

But if someone does know about this model, they would need to know the year and condition of the guitar to start with. If you don't know the year, give us the serial number. Actually, anything it says on the label, inside the soundhole, might be helpful.

It is a 12 string with a plug in the strap-lock. It's in great condition except for a few dings. It has a brass nut. In the soundhole it says, Ibanez Vintage. Model No. 627-12. It also says HT-75-121. I can't find a serial number elsewhere. Jonathan.

The serial number is probably stamped into the neckblock.Look thru the soundhole towards the neck.Evert

Glad I found this topic. I have a Ibanez 627 -12 and am here in hopes of finding information about it. I have no idea what the year of manufacture is. The serial # is 779723. I was hoping to find out what year it was made, approximately how much it sold for new, and a ball park figure on it's present value. Condition: fair to good. Any and all help would be gratefully appreciated!
Thanx.

Sorry for the late reply but I have only just noticed this thread.

For more info see my post elsewhere on Ibanez acoustics in general.

The 627 was available from 1973 onwards in both 6 and 12 string configuration. Mahogany back and sides with a rosewood fretboard and non adjustable bridge. The 12 string has a 42" neck and the 6 is 40.5".

Have seen a couple of the 12s go on e-bay of late for around the US$150 mark.
Hope this helps
Russ
