The Ibanez AW 70 LG I recently stumbled on is not an old guitar (maybe 1998?), but it has great sound and even better action. Can someone confirm for me the likely date and the woods used?

I'd say it was manufacturered in late 1997. I have a 1998 Acoustic catalog. It says the AW70 LG has a solid Sitka spruce top, scalloped bracing, mahogany back, sides and neck, rosewood fretboard and bridge, pearl dot inlays, chrome die cast tuners. LG stands for "Low Gloss" finish. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but they are Korean made, no?

I'd be interested in hearing from other AW 70 owners. This guitar has surprised me. It is the low-gloss model. The mahogany has a light, reddish tint to it. The sound is mellow and balanced, with plenty of bass response. The action is perfect. When I think of the Yamahas we played in the '70's, well, there is no comparison. $125 in the local pawnshop including tax and soft case.
