I have been searching online and locally for some info on my 12 string. It's an Ibanez York bought in 1975. I have played it maybe 10 times since I have had it, kept in a hardshell case and it's still in brand new condition. The model# is 646. What I can see of the serial# (which is etched on the inside up by the neck) reads 75__715

The blank is half a number, could be a 3,5 or an 8. I am trying to get a value on it, one of the guitar dealers here in town told me is a high quality instrument, made with solid mahogany looks to be on the high end. Can you help me?

Sunneecyndee:

Here's a scan of the 1975 catalog that shows the model 646:

Here's the only specs I could find and list price (not sure what year the price is from):
#646 D size,12 string, fine grain Spruce top, Rosewood back and sides US$199.00.

The spruce top is most likely laminated, not solid.

As far as current pricing, here's a summary of ebay auctions, as of 12/04:

Hope this helps.
