Is this a '73 2375 sunburst with replaced pickguard and missing tailpiece cover? Are they rare?

btw...it seems to me that the most Ibanez Strat clones are in Germany. Why?

The bridge has been replaced with a Schaller 3D fixed unit. The guitar's plainly routed for a trem - so I'm a little bit worried about how that bridge is being held on....

Hey guys....noticed that this is not an Ibanez but an Isonez branded guitar?

Michael: the metal truss rod cover tells us that itīs even older: from 1971 or 1972. In the first years of production the trussrod covers were chrome metal plates. From 1973 on these were made from white plastic.

Harry - was Isonez definitely Fuji Gen? Those chrome TRCs appeared on other Fender copies (Columbus commonly in the UK) throughout the 70s - maybe this is from another factory.

Shame he didn't show the neckplate clearly - that would have been a clue.

Here is a pic of the neckplate that I had the guy e-mail me. The crack at the bottom of the neck plate does not look too appealing.

On your 60's site, Harry (and Hasy), is a 2475 from 1969 with a bridge and stop bar tailpiece (LP concept) and with the same maple neck + metal truss rod cover.

According to this company information, Fuji Gen Gakki became the only contractor of Hoshino in 1970.
http://www.fundinguniverse.com/company-histories/H oshino-Gakki-Co-Ltd-Company-History.html

This could mean that the contractor of 1969 COULD be another one. It is also possible that this earlier contractor continued to build Strat models under different brand names.
It IS possible that Fuji Gen Gakki was already ONE of the various contractors of Hoshino before 1970. Actually it would be irrational to sign a contract for the production of all electric guitars without some testing in the preceding years.

My point is: what do we really know about the production of pre-1970 Ibanez guitars?
And this guitar is NOT an Ibanez.

There's almost NOTHING about the parts that looks original.
You mentioned the bridge, (the trem BLOCK seems to be underneath to support it).
The pickguard looks like a Boston red tortoise and it does NOT fit.
The potmeterknobs look like Bostons to me (Bas vd Broek), the pickup covers look yellowish but not really aged.
If the pickguard is modern, the switch can NOT be original, because the slot would be too long.

So what do we have here? A non-Ibanez player's guitar!

Never seen a confirmed Fuji Gen guitar with the imprint on the top half of the neckplate. I'd say it's a generic Japanese Strat copy with a knockoff, lookalike brand/logo.

It looks like it's been thoroughly bodged - I'd be fascinated to know exactly how the bridge is attached - wonder if the springs are still there?

I don't think it's from 1969 - it's too close to the budget copies from the 70s for that - if this thing had Columbus on the headstock, you'd be lucky to get €100 for it. Can't help thinking the seller's hoping no-one notices it isn't actually an Ibanez - and I'd bet a quid the body's plywood too.
