Seems nice. The guy has two out of three of the original pups for it too. Why would I be sarcastic? Am I missing something about this one?

Yes, you missed:
"They don't come more custom than this guitar originally a two pickup guitar it has been altered to fit a third pickup."

For the real collector this one falls in the category "hack jobs".
This is a player (and probably a good one) since there was a 3 pup routing made.

The guy has added one pup, changed two, replaced electronics, replaced and added switches, replaced bridge etc

From the ad's bottom lines: "They don't come more custom than this guitar originally a two pickup guitar it has been altered to fit a third pickup."

Ruined LP copy, perhaps a player, nice colour though.

I seemed to be looking at it through rose lacquer colored glasses. Probably since I like to watch these but won't bid on one unless it's a cherry burst.

Imagine my surprise when I ran across another triple humbucker LP for sale -- with a set neck at that -- right after paying a pretty penny for my bolt on, but cherry, 2341.

I've wanted a set neck Ibanez LP, ever since my bud/band-mate got a pretty decent Special Agent back around 1981. If his were in the same shape today, it would draw $1200+ at auction, and that is far more than I shelled out for my 2341.

You can't tell very much from those tiny pics, but once I started reading more about this hack job, I breathed a sigh of relief. Once you look closer at the pics, you can see the gaps between the pickups, etc.

Any ideas what model this one started out as?

Kirk
