Hi Everyone -

I have a cherry sunburst, pre lawsuit 2355. Open book, no serial number, etc. I bought this fifteen years ago, and the previous owner had made some "modifications" which I have tried to undo. Namely, I replaced his Bigsby with a Gibson ES-175 tailpiece, his cheap knobs with Gibson barrel knobs (I know that witch hat knobs were original, but I like barrels and anything I did was better than what was on when I got it). Other issues are tuners replaced with Schallers, and most importantly, several additional holes drilled in the body, where there had been an active electronics package installed. I am not sure about the pots or pickup switch, as I had to refit a Gibson 175 switch, and remove the piece of crap plate (see the four extra holes there as well). Pickups, bridge, pickguard all are original, and it comes in the original hard case. What do you guys think? Is this worth anything? I don't play it much, and although I collect lawsuit era guitars, I would like to sell this one, or trade it for something else I might play.

What do think is a good estimate of the value in USD?

If it were original $1250.- (+/-20%).
In this condition maybe $400 to $500.- (MAX).

What you should do, is:
Get some spruce saw dust and some Titebond woodglue. Mix it and you have... spruce filler!
Apply it in those ugly holes. Let it dry for 24 hours. Sand off the filler residu very carefully (don't touch any finish).
Find a luthier for the touch-up of your icetea burst.

When it's ready, it's worth $650-850.
