I am looking for info re: a 70's? ES-175 with dual humbuckers, maple with the word artist on the truss rod cover. Can't seem to find any info. This guitar has no serial # or labels.
Ibanex headstock. Blond.

Anyone have any insights?

Could be the 2616 Artist. Does it have star fretboard inlays and an abalone bound body?

Is "Artist" in a fancy script or plain block print?

The only 175 with a blonde headstock is a 2355M.But that's pre Artist. It's possible the truss cover was added later.Does it look like this?

Yeah it looks like the pics that Ccs posted. The word artist is in fancy script. The head stock is not blond. Yes Ginger, it has stars inlaid and it has abalone binding. I looked that pics Ccs posted but could not make the model numbers on the photos clear enough to read.

Sounds like you all know your subject well. I am closer to getting to know this guitar.

Thanks!

Can you give a ballpark figure on value?

The 2616 Artist and the 2355M are two different guitars with different hardware, inlays etc.

The basics of the body are somewhat the same.
There is one for sale in Holland for EUR 1250.-
but I have seen one for sale on eBay some time ago at the Fellowship of Acoustics. I think they initially asked more. If I remember it well $2250.- which was quite steep (EUR 1650).

I don't know for how much it went.

But EUR 1250 = $1700.

The best lawsuit 2355m went for EUR 1110 = $1510.-

Sorry,my mistake.I read it fast and I thought you meant it had a blonde headstock.

Ginger is right on the money,it's a 2616.Great guitars. Here's a link to a thread I started to get some info when I picked mine up a few years ago:
