Author Message   Jcono Username: Jcono Registered: 10-2007 Posted on Monday, October 08, 2007 - 6:17 pm:    I've done my homework on your wonderful forums to find out whatever I could about a 1977 silver tele I picked up recently.\image {frontno} Unfortunately, the bridge is not original, it is a Fender. Also as you can see it was routed out an extra bit by a previous owner. As I am pretty new to this stuff could anyone tell me- is this a rare guitar? Since it's been routed out extra, does that kill it's worthiness? Should I try to find the Ibanez bridge or would that be a futile effort due to lack of orig. parts? A few more pics- hope this works! I''m excited about my new purchase!!   Chipsotoole Username: Chipsotoole Registered: 2-2004 Posted on Monday, October 08, 2007 - 11:23 pm:    It's not mega-rare, but you'll have a lot of trouble finding another one....People don't seem to part with them...Ebay Germany is a good place to look. I have a 72 Ibanez thinline with the original rounded ashtray bridge..The saddles and screws are really rusty...I can't find replacements for them either....Fender ones don't quite fit properly!! As for value, the mods have really messed it up...(I love the neck and the loose string tension) on these guitars......If you sold it I'd say it might make 300 US..perhap 375-400 with the wind behind it (assuming the pups are original...)
