And as far as I can see it's a bolt-on, not even a set neck and not even a lawsuit.
And who the h*** is "Harry Kruiswijk"?
And EMI (Eindhoven Musical Instruments) closed down two years ago.

It looks like shill bidding to me, Harry's alias for auctions in NOT Harry Kruiswijk as far as I know. So, let's ask him personally:
1) Harry, is that you bidding?
2) Don't you agree that 2000 EUR and even 1750 EUR is ridiculous for this bolt-on plank?
3) How much extra is reasonable for a lefty compared to a right-handed one in your opinion?
4) Over the last weeks I saw some bids on Ibanez guitars done by "Scarryharry" and "Superscarryharry" or something like that... giving the impression that you would be one of the bidders, but I didn't trust it, please comment on that...

Hi Ginger

Any Harry with a nickname isn´t me. I always bid on Marktplaats with my own full name, "Harry Kruisselbrink". So I´m not Harry Kruiswijk, I´m not ScaryHarry, I´m not SuperScaryHarry. Alright...from time to time I´m "Dirty Harry", but that´s private, folks!
Maybe the seller of this Ibanez Les Paul had the thought to put on a fake bid under my name, so that others would think that the guitar was really valuable (if that crazy Ibanez collector Harry puts in such a high bid, then it MUST be worth a lot....). Maybe the guy forgot my real family name and made "Kruiswijk" of it?

To the guitar: it´s a lefty 2351BS and until now I have never seen one or even heard of the excistance of a 2351BS left. So it is rare and it is in good and original condition.
As a fanatic collector I´d pay him 500 - 550 Euro for it and I think that´s reasonable enough.
I think I´ll send him a mail and see how he reacts.

Kind greetz,
Harry

There are some more ibanezes from the guy in eindhoven on marktplaats. There are photo's of a guitarshop with the ads, which is strange if it's really closed.... I contacted him about a nice ivory lp deluxe. he wanted 600 euro for it which I ofcourse tried to lower to a (for my taste) more reasonable amount of cash. His reply was not very friendly, so imho: beware of this guy!

"The guy in Eindhoven" is Robby from We Music, who's quite new. He started after Feedback took over both Conijn Muziek and Eindhoven Musical Instruments. The remains of both staffs work in the old Conijn building.
Robby does vintage and some new acoustics and BOEL GUITARS (the brand of Harry's boss Huub Boel).
I have the impression that he sells at least a part of the vintage guitars in consignment. Some time ago there was a huge collection of vintage Peavey guitars in his shop. All of a sudden they're all gone. Then he had several Ibanez guitars (Lieven bought the 2405CA), but the owners decide what they want, and Robby wants his commission of course, that's reasonable.
If you asked the same question about a guitar of his own, he would have reacted differently.
What's also a possible cause: lack of knowledge.
If he paid too much for a non-original guitar and we distract the prices of the original parts, he gets visions of red figures, not being able to pay the rent etc. He is a bit of an idealist who chose to compete with Feedback by doing things differently. I don't agree with all of his prices but I can understand him. To him I'm probabably just a guy who drinks coffee and knows too much. But if a piece is all original and near mint AND the price is good, I would probably buy it from you, from Harry, or from Robby. (If I have the cash of course).
Just let your eyes and ears, the multimeter and the "zakjapanner" be the judge for each and every individual guitar, then you can't go wrong.

That's the whole speculation of course, that they think "that Harry Kruis-something is bidding, so it must be something very special". They just didn't know the "something" 'cause you bid as Harrykruis on eBay. They're using your reputation, Harry. You should demand a commission for that.
2 grand. You can buy a real Les Paul for EUR 1500.- second hand.
This is a nice old Japanese plank. No more no less. If you're left-handed you could choose this one for the price you mentioned. But you could as well buy an Epi set neck. The values are not that much apart.
