I have recently purchased a 70's Byrdland copy. The guitar has no serial number, no signature & the "Open book" headstock. Do any of you knowledable folk know anything about the pickups fitted to this guitar ? SIngle Coil ? Reason is, I bought the Guitar to play Jazz, but the guitar delivers a really (& I mean really) bright Sound, even with the tone rolled off on the Amp & the Guitar. I'm very pleased with the payability of the guitar so was considering a Pickup change to get a warmer tone. I know this may seem like a bad idea from a collecters point of view, but I bought the guitar to play, I'm not a collector. Also is there any view on what pickups might sound good in this guitar ?

Hi Holdy and welcome

You need to remove the pups from the body, spin them upside down and give us some more details or post a pic. Do the pups have covers on?

They are probably Super 70's (humbuckers)
