Oops, the pictures didn't work. Looks like the image tag syntax was right. Usually, this means the file sizes are larger than the 50k limit or that they are not GIF or JPEG (RGB only, no CMYK) format.

Let me know if I can help out.

well mainly of any value or rarity it might have. also, the year. on the inside joint of the neck 67 is written, but i know thats not the right year. also, i'm pretty confident i've got all the original parts except for the tuning heads, and i would like to try to find some from at least that same year of production.
thanks,
adam

Adam,
This guitar is from 1974 I think. I only got the truss rod cover to judge by so it's a bit wild. Its hardware should be chrome and it should have either one of the two type tuners in the pics below. The pickups should be open coil casing zebra's.

If you are ever looking to sell just email me!

Israle...Its a 2392 looks like a 74 or so. Not a particularly rare LP, but interesting in the use of the crown inlays and wood colored headstock. This guitar is identified in the "Untold Story"and is a great example of the innovation that Ibanez showed very early on (think Artisan).

Seeing the other hardware is making me believe its an early one. (Plastic saddles and square polepieces in the pickups. So I state its an early 1974 made one. Harry, please back me up!
The tuners on it should be the ones in the upper picture I posted.
I do not think I have them in chrome. Only in worn gold I guess. I'll check tonight. They are crappy tuners by the way. If you intend to play this baby you should consider (better) replacements.

Hi Adam, Paul!

Okay, I'll put in my two pennies (is that the correct expression?): it's a nice 2392 (not yet in my collection ) and as far as I can see you still have the original parts, exept for the tuners.
The model 2392 appeared for the first time in the 1973 catalogue, so I can support the thought that this might be a 1974, but I even think it could be a 1973 (because of the square pole pieces in the black bobbins and the plastic bridge saddles, like Paul stated already)
I suggest: try to restore it, even with a set of original tuners. Paul showed you the two varieties that are correct. Although these are el cheapo's and very crappy, the guitar has its highest value when it is in the most original condition. You should be able to find a set of old Japanese tuners (spare parts at your local guitar dealer? Ebay?), because these were used on many various guitar brands back in the seventies. Unfortunately I can't help you out, because I'm also looking for the same tuners to restore my Ibanez Gold Top Les Paul...
Like Paul I'll say: if you ever want to sell.....first ask Paul and than ask me!
Kind greetz,
Harry

Harry,

I thought this was a 74-75 model only. Never seen it in a 73 (or earlier)catalogue.

Thanks for your two cents!

Hi Paul!

The 2392 is in the catalogue with René Gustafssen on the cover which is, as far as I'm informed, the 1973 catalogue....

I am sure you are right Harry!

So it's more likely a '73 I think now.

Paul
