Hi all!

Got a mail from a fella from Germany who had this Ibanez Korina V with an extra Logo-plate screwed on, where according to the original G****n V the output jack would have been. According to the non-black backside of the headstock, no serial number and the correct pickguard-shape (he wrote a very detailed discription) I know that it's a very early one, but I never knew of the model with the extra addition on the treble leg. Anyone of you familiar with this?

Wow...cool find!!!.Another addition to the Mysterys of Ibanez chapter.
Considering that...

1)..out of the hundreds I've seen over the years it's the first one ever with the medallion(or even screw hole traces)
2)..it seems to be screwed "on" rather than "set in" like the other medallion models
3)..it has the traits of the earliest models
4)..i've only seen that type of badge once before and it was screwed to both sides of a early display rack...

....I'm thinking maybe a display model for some NAMM type trade show of the era with the medallion screwed on as a extra promotional tool.
Just one opinion. What do you think?

I am not sure but isn't that the wrong TRC for a korina V? I thought those TRC's were only on the 1967 copies and the 1958 copies (like this one)had the small TRC's.

Paul,
Your right. But I believe because the 67's were already in production when these were first intoduced, the first run,or at least a few, came out with this TRC.Probably just because they had them.I haven't seen too many, maybe two,but I have seen them.

Okay,
So that is solved. Harry already explained this guitar to be an early one. It all matches.
