i recently bought one of these for $75. I was hoping some one could give me some info about them and maybe give me an idea of how much they are worth.

The head stock has a crack in it but i dont think it goes all the way through, and it is still strung and plays. Its has a "serial number" that has been scratch by some one into the plate on the back. other than that i can't find one. does anyone know any history on it. it looks like the one that sold on ebay in an earlier post on this page on 11-07-05( http://www.qksrv.net/click-1802666-10381315?loc=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI .dll% 3FViewItem%26item%3D7364183069 ) can someone give me a timeline or somekind of history on this?

Your link doesn't work. Maybe the crack is repairable.

Dedbolt:

The auction you linked to has some info in the Questions and Answer section. However, the bass could also be from '75 and was shown in the '76 catalog, too.

Here's a link to a '76 catalog page that has some specs listed:

http://www.break-even.org/ibzscans/1976KLA/76-4.jpg

As far as value goes, the auction shows that someone was willing to pay over $650.00 for one back in Nov. 2005. Sounds like you got a real steal.
