Hello all, I have this plexi-glass replica of the Dan Armstrong original. I've been told it's an Ibanez, tho' there is no name on the headstock or serial number.front
Does anyone have any info or opinion as to what I have here? body

Hi Bobbytobasco

I don't think it is an Ibanez.
-- The headstock is totally different from de Ibanez version.
-- The dot inlays on the fretboard are much bigger.
-- The routings in the body are different. thanks to the plexi scratch plate we can see this. If it were an Ibanez this scratchplate would not be the original one.
--It seems that your guitar is somewhat thinner and that the edges of the body are more rounded.

No idea what brand it could be, but I assume it's not Ibanez.

Here's a pictur of mine to compare.

-- Your stop-tailpiece is a "hooked in" version, while all Ibanez versions I have seen have a "bolt through" tail piece.

Looks like it might be a Shaftsbury brand with a different pup and scratch plate.

Bobbytobasco,

Where are you located? I have a similar model to yours except the tail piece is different and was found in Melbourne.

I would have thought it is an Aria but I have seen a catologue photo of the Aria which is similar to the Ibanez in scratchplate and pups configuration.

Plexiglass

Regards,

Meranti
