Guys, I picked up an Ibanez Silver Series pickguard, with pickups, 3-way, and potentiometers (oh, I also got the bridge!).

So the back of the pickups are marked as "Excel" brand... with a cursive L in Excel. I can provide pictures if needed, but I'm curious if anyone knows if these are the correct pickups for those Strat copies? I'm looking to replace the p/u's in my Challenger.

I don't have any reason not to believe the seller, but I just want to be sure, before I start replacing parts.

TIA.

I have a Silver series and I have those Excel pickups in mine, too. I'm very sure these are original.

Cool, thanks for the prompt response. Any comments on the sound of those P/U's!?

Thanks again!

Here's the eBay auction, just for reference. The picture sucks, but it's a good representative of the top half.

These pickups are very vintage sounding. Very Strat like (duh!). Nice catch! Nice price, too!

mine had the eccel pickups in it too.....they looked too cheesy to belong, so i assumed they were notht e right ones....being that all i could find about the name excel was that it was a cheap chinese crap guitar brand.

so i put some dimarzio something or others in it.......to me it sounded a hell of alot better.
