I found this little momento on a Japanese auction site, which appear to be a 1974?? promo for the Golden Oldies series by Ibanez. Anyone have any more info perhaps on who they are or what style of music they played?

The guy in the middle, with his foot on the tire is Jeff Hasselberger (of the Jeff's Black Hole section). He worked for Elger at the time. The whole Sal & the Holmes Gang band thing was a joke.

It was a made up band, a gimmick for the sake of the adverting.

I remember that ad from Guitar Player magazine. 1974, I believe. It really captured the whole Sha Na Na vibe. Very cool.
