Looks good, tuners have been replaced and a microswitch added. A little more than what I paid for mine.

Hmmm...strange one!!!!
Look at the headstock, guys!
No truss rod cover...
No wooden plug....
Headstock shape seems somewhat smaller than usual....

What were they doing back in the seventies????

Yeah, that is strange. I noticed the missing cover/plug, but not the headstock shape.

I have a '77 2375 with a neck that is very similar to that shown. In fact, with the exception of the headstock shape, its identical. It has no truss cover or plug because the neck has a maple cap fingerboard. The truss adjuster is at the neck heal and the truss rod was obviously installed from the top before the fingerboard was glued down.

However, the shape of that headstock is odd.

Just for the record, here are some pictures from that auction.

The headstock has the Challenger shape. I doubt it's fake, but probably an interim model.

Thanks John.

Looks legit to me. I had one similar. Never noticed anything odd on that one.

Sure is a curious one! I wonder if the neck profile is similar to the Challenger series.

And what about this one:
http://www.marktplaats.nl/index.php?url=http%3A//koopjes.marktplaats.nl/muziek_e n_instrumenten/snaarinstr_gitaren_elektrisch/30730582.html%3Freturn%3DeJwlytGKwj AQheF3EexlY6qgpJRFX6RMdbRD0iRkRnQV330n7k3Oxz8BZ92b3KZn13XWraaSHoz9LJKdMT5ljO0CxU sOAMJtDGa5vwj9iHGkyFLuC0bBaDgClG8ZbyRQ9I4BvRTi82zO%252B92hnWUJPzIN6do8w2CbCw%252 F%252Bsd4eA0XPM8QL3XC9PUnSZhVBn%252BO%252BO1R2lbsvRfmiXPlU1v393yvr6s8TTlDTRpmYam zyYFf95w9YD04D%26df%3D1

The seller says it's all original.

What about the headstock? It looks as if the part with the Ibanez logo has a different color.
So could it be that this part once belonged to an ibanez and that it is now glued on a Chinese Squier or worse?
Or is it just that the first contributions of this thread got me in a suspicious state of mind?

I think that guitar in the last link is OlafReijnders'. He is a poster here so ask him if you want to know more about it.

Interesting, I haven't seen a lefty Strato, but that's way cool.

I think the color differences are a result of the 3 piece neck construction. My righty has the same look, the wood grain and tint are a little different on each piece.

After reading some more in the threads on the Silver Series Strat I indeed saw the same pictures of the same guitar in a message by OlafR. And he's the one selling it.
I suppose the guitar is Ok then.
