First of all, thank you for allowing me on this wonderfull board :-)
This is my first post here, and the perhaps a start of many, IF i get into the Ibanez world.
I am not in because I dont know if I should by an Ibanez 2661, that im being offered. I dont hvae have pictures, and have not seen it :-), but it is according to the seller in good condition, and without changes being made to it. Its is sunburst and have the vine-inlays on the fretboard. He is offering it to me for 400 us-dollars. Should I even spend my time looking at it for that price ? I have looked EVERYwhere to find a price estimate on it..
If i buy it i will post pics in here, and talk with you geeks about it :-)

Thank in advance
from a fellow geek

Jimmi,

Welcome !! You've come to the right place. Give the regulars a few hours to respond. We're worldwide so there's often a time lag for answers.

Board time is USA Eastern time since that is where JohnS (our moderator) is located. I'm on the Left Coast myself

I'd offer some advice but this model is not my area of expertise...

anything with a vine should be worth $400 US ay? As long as no major issues with the guitar. But... not my model of great knowledge either. Ask the seller to send you photos. Hard to buy without seeing it, I would imagine.

JimiH:

There are quite a few members that have these LP-style guitars with half-vines on the neck. Among them Orval, LesPaul, Dave_g and Harry. They should be able to help out.

But I'd say for $400.00 you should at least check it out. If possible, get some pictures to post here. Then one of the experts can help confirm condition and see of there are any issues with changed parts.

Hey Harry and other sweet helpers :-)

The other thread has been killed. Guess the guitar was not vintage :-)
I will have a look at it this saturday, will take photos and post them here.
And again thanks for the nice responds. I asked about an ESP Surveyor Bass from `93 ,that I just bought, on the ESp board. All I got back was " Send a pic bitch!!!" Guess those young heavy dudes has a territorial pissing issue to deal with :-)
And I guess the Ibanez-people is the more laid back, knower of beauty and peace love and bending :-)

Will be back !
