What model is this?

It is my second Les Paul as I already own a 2660BK with a half vine inlay. That Les Paul is not original (it has a bigsby added) and is not in a very good condition, so I was looking for an original Ibanez Les Paul in a good condition. Now I have found this one (see below), which is in very good condition and is original exept for the tuners (I got the original tuners seperately from the last owner). It has no serial number. Can anyone tell wich model this is? Is it the 2351M? Can anyone tell from wich year it is? I think your guitar is made in 1973/1974. Nice one! Maybe you can also answer this question: I own a white SG copy with brandname 'custom' on the headstock (see pictures below). It playes very good, a fine guitar. The plate on the back says: 'STEEL ADJUSTABLE NECK, 500534, MADE IN JAPAN'. Is this a 70's guitar from the Ibanez factory? I don't exactly know if the Custom brand was made in the Hoshino factories (where Ibanez was made). I do have my doubts because some Custom guitars show almost 1005 resemblance with the ibanez models, others (like this SG) seem to differ too much (headstock shape, truss rod cover) to be Hoshino-made. In general the quality of Custom guitars equals the Ibanez quality, IMHO. So I don't know for sure....maybe somebody else can jump in on this one? Even the neckplate and serialnumber type an font looked Ibanez style. The Custom shown here and others I have seen look more Matsumoku made to me. 100 % not sure though. That neckplate looks like Epi one, it is narrower than "your average plate" but Custom is quite unfamiliar brand to me.. Conclusion: if they used similar plates than Epi Japan, the factory could be FujiGen.. Like Harry, I do not have sure answer.. Next?? Bassassin Username: Bassassin Registered: 01-2006 Posted on Tuesday, June 06, 2006 - 8:19 pm:    The headstock shape & inlays look Matsumoku to me - and I have a Mat-built Westbury with an identical shaped truss rod cover. However, the Mat neckplates I've seen aren't like that one - they tend to look like this: http://www.sorted-uk.org/other/eroslp/neckplate.jpg The "serial numbers" on these plates appear to be completely random - I recently saw a twin-neck SG with two of these plates & the numbers didn't match at all. Weren't Japanese Epis made at Matsumoku? Jon.
