Even the "Beauty" was ruined. They made a third pickup hole in it. Now the price is too high.

Don't know about the other one. Ask Harry and Hasy.

Ginger, as if the crooked middle pickup wasn't insult enough, how did you miss the EIGHT mini switches ? I cant imagine what the wiring looks like in this beast .This guitar is worthless to a collector

But the strat is stock, just missing the bridge and tremlo arm. I wouldn't say that was ruined, it looks a good restorer for a 2020.

Yes, I missed them. I saw the middle pick-up in the thumb-nail and I knew enough. Gave a short answer and moved on.
If I look too long at such images, I'm gonna throw up.

BTW
Are you going to pick someone USA this time to have the headstock of your black beauty restored?

Get it cheap and paint it. Black hides everything!

Hm, where were my eyes???
I know LP doesn't have three pups
So, "the beauty" is ruined and I am not going to begin guitar building (strat) though it could be an interesting hobby.

Season's Greetings

Not only is there a third pickup "hole" it's not even straight and/or positioned correctly. Nice way to ruin a beautiful guitar. What a shame.

Guy who is selling it tells that the serial # is L 777843 and that it is 1973 - 74 special model, originally the same as in the quote in English on the ad. Any help?

Anyway, it has been a beauty before the extra gadget was installed.

Talajuha:

The serial number of the Custom Agent indicates that it was made in Dec. 1977, so I don't understand the seller's connection with the dates of '73-74.

IMO, I can't see how this guitar, who's collectible value has been destroyed by the irreversible modification, can be worth more than the value of original parts. That said, to the right collector/buyer the parts may be worth near $500.00 (650 Euros?).

The seller means (I guess) that the model has been made since '73-74 by Ibanez and he tries to benefit it. He has written an addendum after somebody complained, something like: "OK, it may be '77, but anyway it is a rare and very good guitar and I have made it even better".
I checked his other ads and understood that he thinks he can make any guitar better (play, sound) by changing parts and by doing other modifications.
It is a pity he ruined this beauty.

$500.00 = 385.00€ (1.00€ = $1.30, ca.)

$379.97 to be precise.

This "guitar doctor" is a quack.
If you don't walk too good because your legs hurt, he just adds another leg.
And if you have troubles with your vowels and diphthongs, he gives you an extra tongue for each vowel and diphthong, instead of giving you speech therapy.
He's a guitar-Frankenstein!

At this point, with the guitar so hacked up, it really doesn't matter when it was made or anything else regarding the Vintage nature of this beast...its a player or a parts guitar...period.....I get dibs on the PUPS !

You can find this kind of thinking all over the Internet: Buy a guitar, change pickups for better sounds, do other modifications etc ...
Yet the world is full of different kind of guitars, enough to find suitable for any needs, and you may order one suited to your needs.
Yes, this should go to Miscellanous
