I have recently aquired a Non-Serial Numbered Ibanez Les Paul Recording copy. It plays nice, but I can not figure out the controls. I believe that the forward conrol is a Master Volume, and the next would be a Tone Control. The other 2 I can not figure out. Also there is a 3 position tone selector, in/out phase switch and hi/low impedance. Any ideas? Any other Recording (Model 2372 or 2380) owners out there?

I do know that the the control next to the tone selector is a treble controller, then bass. Mine is Walnut. It does not have an impedence switch. Do I need to run this thing through a transformer?

Hi I've bought a Les Paul Recording Bass and it has the same controls model 2373. The instrument is unbelieveble new !! Does anyone knows the year of this model ? Wiring diagrams ? Woods ? Market price ?

Hi all,

I also really need a wiring diagram for this guitar (the 2372). I found one with really nice action but it's been completely rewired incorrectly. Thankfully it was very cheap, but my repair guy needs the diagram to fix her up.

So if anyone has a wiring diagram you'd be saving my life by contacting me or replying to this post.

Many thanks,

cj

Better late than never! I found this http://www.ntw.net/~w0ui/family_webpage/linkpages/music/music_lespaulrecording.h tm
which has excellent background info on the Gibson LP Recording. Also try here
http://www.gould68.freeserve.co.uk/lprusers/lprusers.html (its the LP Recording users' forum). Finally, try here
http://users2.ev1.net/~jimbobwan/guitar/lpp01.htm
for a really interesting article where a Seymour Duncan pre-amp is added to a LP Personal. There are detailed wiring diagrams here accompanying the piece. I realise the personal and the recording differ, but they also have similarities, including the 'decade' switch.

These are all articles about the Gibson original version of the LPR. I suppose the $64 000 question is this: did Ibanez replicate the Gibson wiring and pickups?

Good luck!
