I have just aquired an old Ibanez Flying V. It has a bolt on Neck and Ibanez engraved on The truss Rod cover. It looks like a 74 bolt on model.
It is in real bad condition which means I have to rebuild from wood up.
Someone has Cut down the pickguard and so I have no way of telling what it should look like.
It is a mahogany Bodied dark red stain V with a white pickguard and I need a pic of the pick guard or even a decent pic of the guitar so I can restore it to original condition as close as possible. If it were some other brand I would probably have thrown it out. But alas I like to resurect anything that has Ibanez on the headstock be it a cheap copy or an Artist let alone an EX..
if anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated....

I found this on the VINTAGE IBANEZ Website:
Flying V Model No 2387
Body:Selected Mahogany
Neck: Bolt on laminated Mahogany
Fingerboard: Rosewood with pearl dots .
Pickups: 2 Super 70 Humbuckers
Controls: 2 Volume, 1 Tone, 3 way
Bridge: Gibson style tunomatic with tailpiece
Finish: Cherry
Hardware: Gold
Length: 44.25"
Width: 20.75 X 16.75
Depth: 1.5"
Frets: 22
Scale: 24.75"

I guess these were Low End copies, but still pretty cool! I've opted for an '82 RR550, which has the Ibanez Duckbill headstock. Plays way better than a Gibson Vee, IMHO!

Hey Spiro,

Doesn't look like anyone wants to help you. They just want to tell you what they have got.

Anyway mate, I have a '74 set neck V with a white pickguard and rosewood stained mahogany body. If you want, I'll photograph it and trace a template of the pickguard for you.

Cheers,

Mark Munchenberg
