Hi there,

I have bought my first Ibanez guitar :)
It is a 2355, a Gibson es-175 model. Looking at the headstock -the open book shape- tells me it is a pre-lawsuit. So the Jazzbox must be fabricated somewhere before 1975.
But it is not clear to me of what year this guitar would be exactly.
When taking a look at the Ibanez catalog from 1972 untill 1976, it shows that 1976 is the first year in which this model is available in the colours Antique/brown Sunburst. In the years before only black sunburst and natural are pictured and mentioned.
Now I am hoping someone can give me some tips about the year or info when this specific colour (antique sunburst) was produced first.

I also would appreciate if someone can give me a price indication since the guitar is almost mint,
just some scratches on the front.

I will post pictures in some weeks.

thanx in advance.

Mike

Hi Mike!
Is this 2355 you are talking about the one that's pictured as the "smooth Ibanez 2355" on the http://muziek.clubs.nl/jazzguitaar homepage? Than I must tell you that you're mistaken about the shape of the headstock. The guitar in the picture has the new headshape that Ibanez used from 1976 on. But in this case the guitar should have a serial number. Please clarify some things here.
Greetz,
Harry

Another question about my Ibanez 2355 which I am hoping you guys know more.

I have taken a closer look at the PU's and there is 'super 70' engraved into both of them.
Also there is a (I will use the dutch word since I'm not quite sure of the english) stempel (print ?) on it that says 15.29

Is this a production number or what does this stempel/print mean ?

regards,
Mike

ps. pics of the guitar are still in development.

Any info on this guitar is appreciated very much :)
The print on the Super 70's is 15.29 (black ink just below the engraved text 'Super 70')

Mike
