Smart move.

Tell us more about it. Can you compare it to a "real" LP? How/where did you find it?

John,

I work in Burlington Vermont. There's a large (for Burlington) music store down by the lake. I usually take a walk around town at lunchtine and stop here and there. The music store is one of those "theres" I have also found a MIJ 56 reissue Strat in sea foam green there.

Anyway, I was there and saw the gouitar hanging in the used guitar rack. I asked them to open the control cavity so that I could see what it was made from, and it is solid, mahogany on the bottom and maple on the top. It has Seymour Duncan Pickups and Sperzel tuners. The frets are in very good condition, there are a few minor dings but I don't care. It lays beautifully and to my ears (although my wife thinks I'm deaf) it sounds like the original. I had a Gibson LP Custom I bought new in 1970.

I'm thrilled to have this one. It's definitely a keeper. It goes well with my other two Ibanez, a 2454 pre serial # 335 copy with the lawsuit headstock, and an 87 AS80.

So I have a solid body, a semi solid and a hollow (The 2454 doesn't have center block).

Winnie
