I purchased a Ibanez LP copy about 5 yrs. ago. I was wondering what year and anything else about its history. It has the script logo and trapezoids in abalone. Gibson-shaped headstock.A pair of Maxxon pickups(humbuckers?) I question them being humbuckers. I took one apart and it had one row of screws and a metal componant that went..unununu- that seemed to only be there to hold up te other side of the nickel cover. The serial # was located under the pickup selector cover.
It is written in blk. pen(# 564-GL-9403).
It had old style gibson tuners-boxed gears. The original bridge was some type of pot metal. The body must be hollow. I have a LP Studio that is about twice the weight. I knocked on it and you can hear
it. I know it probably is the the lower end model. I have had it refreted($190),
Put a set of Duncan `59`s, put a Gibson bridge and tune-o-matic. Sounds great clean to mild gain. At high vol it screams w/ feedback. Help me out guys!

It sounds like a '74 to me. i picked up an SG with the same humbuckers in it as well, and yes they are single coils in a humbucker casing. (low end model)But i dont know about the number though?
