Has anybody any information on an Ibanez Custom
guitar. I just purchased it with case for 600 Dutch Guilders (about $ 260)
There is no serial number to be found on the guitar.

- open book shape
- Ibanez logo
- 5 piece perloid inlay (4 triangele - 1 square)
- the word CUSTOM written on black bell shaped cover
- 6 chrome machine heads
- white bindings

- 22 frets
- rosewood? fingerboard
- 9 perloid? upside down bell shaped inlays
- white bindings
- bolt on (chrome plate: Made in Japan)

- Les Paul shape
- two tone sunburst (yellow/(light)brown
- tiger stripe top
- white bindings
- two piece bridge section (plastic white saddles)
- 4 plastic golden controls (2 tone/ 2 vol.)
- 2 pickups
neck: chrome cover / 6 screw poles
bridge: two section open brass cover
- 6 square poles
- 6 screw poles
- 4 ply scratch board w/b/w/b (mounted)
- 3-way selector rythm/treble
- mahogany back - two layers - white intersection

It's a great looking guitar. Sound good too.
Hope someone can help me.

Thanks, Jan - The Netherlands

Hello Jan!
Leek me wel kicken om je op deze site gewoon in het Nederlands te antwoorden, maar ik doe het toch maar in het Engels, dan hebben anderen er ook wat aan.
Your Les Paul copy is made before mid-1975. From that time on Ibanez used a serial number system, engraved in de neckplate. Before that time it only said "made in Japan". I once had exact the same guitar, even the finish (yellow in the mid, light brown on the edges and a tigerstripe top) and I deeply regret I ever sold it, about 15 years ago now. Maybe you're interested in selling it to me? Or maybe I got another interesting guitar in exchange for you.
Greetings, Harry
