Hi, a friend of mine is selling a 1983? (832****) serial, DT50 (bolt on neck, all over red finish, rosewood neck, dot inlays, chrome hardware, separate fixed bridge/tailpiece. It's in good/fair condition with a few dings and paint chips in the body, electronics are good and it comes with the original hardcase. How much roughly is it worth? I know these are far less sought after than the DT300s from that period but this is the first time I've ever seen one. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

just checked again, and that could be a B324*** serial, does that make sense to anyone?

Should a letter & then 83**** if its a 1983 model. Most of the Dt-50FR's go for $200 - $250 range.

Thanks, it's a B82. Does the DT50FR have the same pickups as the DT300? Also any common problems or issues to look for?

Yes, should have a v2 in the bridge & super 58 in the neck. Most common problem is the neck joint getting cracks. Look at the side of the body where the neck meets, thats where to look for cracks.

Heres a 1980 model on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3712756597&category=33043 "NOT exactly like Adrian Smiths". Its beat to hell like mine, but the BIN price is double the value.
