A few months ago I purchased this guitar . It has the open book headstock with pearl inlays and no serial number with a bolt on neck . Triple super 70`s pickups with no scratchguard along with tune-o-matic style bridge all in the fading gold . It doesnt seem to have any resonance chambers as I have played it off against a Gibson 73 Les Paul Custom and there is virtually no weight difference although I felt the Ibanez was better! not only soundwise but also a thinner and faster neck . I have some hard nosed gibson lp playing friends and this thing is raising some eyebrows!! Finish has retained the brilliant white striping around body and headstock and has not yellowed with age . Obviously with no serial no it must be 74 or earlier , is there a way of dating the pots or pickups on these?? Can anybody help with id as i cant seem to locate this particular model in any of the catalogues on the other sites??
Thanks Baz

Hi Baz!

Seems to me you have the model number 2341. Please have a look on our site http://www.ibanez-vintage-page.com and find your axe under "catalogues". Originally your Les Paul copy should have a scratch plate, but they were often taken off. You're right about the date: no serial number and open book headstock means it was built before august 1975.
A picture would be good to help you out definitely!
Kind greetz,
Harry
