On UK ebay:

Only seen one of these in the flesh back in the late 70's. 1300 quid? We don't seem to have much information here on these models.

What do you think Harry?

I'm not surprised none of us have information on this model. Have you seen the 'Lute' guitar that came form the same factory? That thing was a work of art.

It's hard to put a price on this Maccaferri. If it was $1,300 I'd go for it but not pounds sterling.

However, it looks great and a limited run back then too.

Hi
I saw and sold quite a few of these when I worked in the music trade in the 70’s & 80’s. I believe they were a personal project of Maurice Summerfiled – the UK importer and Jazz player – so probably are not seen outside the UK. Some were also branded as CSL. There were a lot of rejects, which we sold through our shop in Newcastle. I even saw/played one with a resonator inside the sound chamber.

Maurice kept an original Selmer in an area in the CSL warehouse alongside his other Jazz guitars including some very old Gibsons. I never played it as these were his highly valued collection with only a few ‘worthwhiles’ allowed to ply them.

The machine heads look identical to up-market Ibanez classicals.

I personally never liked the Macaferris and think £1000 a bit steep - IMHO
