I have the opportunity to buy an ibanez ar2618 (1978) for 500 euro's (681 dollars) or an ibanez ar300(1982) for 800 euro's (1088 dollar's). Both guitars are completely original. I would really like your opinions on them. If I buy the 2618, I would like to install coil taps for the pickups.. is this recommended/easy?

I've seen that one too, Zaagje.
I think you need more and better pics of Jongsma's guitar. I can say VERY little about the condition from these STAMPS. Even if you click on bigger pics, you get the same stamps. I'm sorry, but this is not a proper way to present a vintage guitar. Besides, he wrote that the bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan, and that a phase switch was installed. So, you have to decide what you want: a collectors guitar or a player. Modifying a player means no harm done, as long as you don't change routings (weight loss).

Can't you make an appointment to try Jongsma's guitar, if it's not too far away? (take a small clean amp, a good cable and a multimeter with you).
