Hello =)
I have this 98 Ibanez RG series but i would like to know the exact model of it. I rather not start dismantling it to find out so i hope you guys can help out. Tried to search all over the web but no luck so far =)

Hmm... tough one.. Are those V7 and V8 pickups on it?
Given the standard tremolo narrows the search down significantly, although I don't see that specific configuration listed at www.ibanezregister.com/gallery/Gallery.htm |

Someone on this board may likely identify that model, but if not.... here's a blurb from Ibanez's website.
It is possible to send pictures of your instrument (back and front) to Ibanez Instrument Identification, Box 886, Bensalem, PA 19020 for identification. We can only aid those who send a picture and this service is available only on models sold in the United States. We cannot give the production figures of how many of a particular model were made. Thank you for your efforts =) Yes those are V7 and V8. Also This guitar was bought from Finland and i don't know if europe models vary much from their US counterparts. |

Hi Ariposo..
What you have in your hands is a rare RG521.. This was made only for the european Domestic market.. It was the predecessor to the RG421 and now the RG321.. |

Ari..
To be 100% correct you need to unscrew the neck.. the model number will be stamped in the heel joint.. |

Oh well. Like i said, I'd rather not remove the neck but i guess it needs to be done... I'll let you guys know my findings =) |

Ok I've done with the demolition and turns out its not RG521 but RG502FX. If anyone has any specs on this model i'd appreciate it =)

hmmm sounds very japaneseey in model number..
The common rg502 in the western world has an edge bridge..
This has the suffix FI and FX on the neck which means fixed.. |
