Ibanez AX7521 (body questions)

Author Message   Mikevirok Username: Mikevirok Registered: 06-2005 Posted on Sunday, June 12, 2005 - 8:22 am:    I have an original AX7521 7-string guitar in cherry-fudge finish. When the finish begant o chip away at one section of this guitar, I began to notice that the wood underneath was more than I barganed for. The body of my AX7521 is a mohogany WITH A MAPLE CAP. I found this to be very strange, since Ibanez only listed Mahogany when releasing this guitar years ago. I have since made plans to strip down the paint of the guitar and finish the natural wood to show it off. Where did you get that suggestion? Have you confirmed it through observation of your instrument's wood? I've got one of these, and it's a great guitar. However, the nut is cheap and the pickups are sort of muddy.
