There's just something about them. I love the uncommon wood and creative inlay work, the great necks and finishes, and the top notch tone. Even if they were made mostly by machine, I feel Like some luthier at FujiGen spent hours handcrafting mine.

I have 3 now and want more!!! I like the way each one has it's own personality. Which one will it be next? The SA2020 or maybe an AR3000? The SZ2020 has captured my interest, and my love-hate relationship with the SZ series has turned back to love again. Or maybe a prestige bass - that'd be nice.

Might I suggest a BL1025, or Blazer 21? This was one of the first guitars that had the extra attention lavished on the neck (where it counts most IMHO) and they can be had pretty cheap. It appears you don't totally faveor the thin neck/locking whammy models and I must say the AT model on the right is killer! If that had anything approaching the ultra neck carve, I'd find a way to own one but the new price on the AT models is a bit silly if you ask me. My BL1025 (met green!) doesn't say Prestige on it, but got the same neck treatment and it shows. It is my "old fart JEM" with the H-S-H and Wilkinson trem + Sperzels, I just have to carve the Monkey Grip someday! Z

Zoner, that's an SA1260, not an AT300. Very similar thought - different neck profile and hardware. They can be had pretty cheaply, but they have a few hardware shortcomings in my opinion.

The BL1025 has been on my radar for a while. What held me back from bidding on one recently, aside from that I have way too many H-S-H guitars, is the pickup configuration: It has specially designed humbuckers that are composed of 2 single coil strat style pickups. I have heard that they can approximate strat and humbucker sounds, but they excel at neither. Maybe you can offer an opinion? I'm pretty picky about my humbuckers and my single coils. I've heard the neck is wonderful. It's a nice attempt at versatility, but I'd rather it just be an S-S-S model.

Hi Funkle,
I've got a 1997 BL1025. I think it does a pretty good job of both. I like the single coil sound most of all. I think the thing with the blazer is that it is a pretty bright sounding guitar by itself, so it lends itself more to a single coil sound.
