Hi. I can buy a GRX20 and I wonder what the quality is of this guitar, where it's made and, most important, which tremolo it's equipped with.

The '99 catalog lists the following specs:

Body: agatis
Neck: grx
Frets: medium
Bridge: standard tremolo
Neck PU: psnd1
Bridge PU: psnd2
Colors: black, red, blue

Here's the description:

"GRX guitars feature Powersound pickups for screaming leads, comfortable easy playing necks and a wide assortment of finishes. Yes, GRX guitars are inexpensive. But everyone is setup and inspected according to the same stringent Ibanez standards of our most expensive instruments."

That's marketing talk for "these are our economy models. There's a reason why they are cheap...don't expect too much from them."

I'd guess they were made in Korea. I don't believe the Chinese factories were on-line in '99. I could be wrong. What's the serial number? Might be able to figure out the factory of origin from it.

Here's a link to the '99 catalog page for the GRX20:

The seller said that the serialnr. is I9080343 so I guessed Indonesia.
How are these tremolo's? Are they like the crappy 7ender vintage tremolo's?

Oops, I forgot about the Indonesian factories.

Looks like I=Cort Indonesia factory

I don't have any first hand experience with these models or parts. What kind of quality are you looking for?

I think this guitar is too expensive. He asks 150 Euro for it. (approx. $200) So I guess I look further. I've seen a nice lefty Ibanez Les Paul Custom todat for 275 Euro. I think I go after this one.
