Well, I received my 1st Ibanez catalog today and it is the 2005. A lot of this stuff seems to be no longer available at discounters like MF and SamAsh. Does anyone know when the new catalog is coming out? Is this how Ibanez usually does things (makes changes in models/numbers frequently and discontinues others, etc). I did pick up my first Ibanez guitar on ebay this week, the extremely cheap and cool-looking jtk1. This also seems to be discontinued. Thanks much, Mark

Ibjamminmon:

As Freak says, the 2006 catalog is out. You can order it for $5.00 US from Ibanez.com (http://www.ibanez.com/catalog/) if you can't find one at a local dealer. You can also download the electric/bass and acoustic catalogs as PDFs, if you'd like to have an electronic version.

Ibanez has been playing the rotation game, like most big brand names, every year. This means that models which aren't selling well are discontinued, very quickly. The downside is sometimes a model we like just isn't appreciated by the masses, and so it goes away (like the Jet King I). The upside is Hoshino has lots of new models in the pipeline to fill in the gaps.

You should be able to find "last year's" models on the net and at a discount. You have to look a little harder, but they are out there.
