Mine looks like yours, but has a different control. I bought this one two yeas ago, but I
don't know what model it exactly is.
(As you can see, somehow, it has a "ROADSTER SERIES" logo.)

The original Power, Saber, and Radius models as well as the Turbot and Ballback WERE part of the Roadstar series for '87 & '88.
Some of the literature indicates "Roadstar Pro".

Thank you for the information. I myself consider
my guitar shown above must be akin to RS guitars.
The logo, however, seemed to me a bit strange in that it doesn't say "ROADSTAR II SERIES" but "ROADSTAR SERIES." My understanding was that ROADSTAR models were ancestor to (the more popular and abundant) ROADSTAR II models. |

There was no "Roadstar" series prior to the "Roadstar II". The Roadster and Blazer series preceded the Roadstar II.
'87 and later models just have "Roadstar Series" as shown on your guitar. Some '87 and most '88 models have nothing indicating the series on the headstock.
Why all this happened is open to speculation.

Oh, I see. Sounds a bit confusing. Put roughly, Ibanez made "Roadser," and "Roadstar II," and then "Roadstar."
I have another question as to the color: the "FA" used for Heartfielder's guitar, and mine as well.
1988 catalogue says it's "Five Alarm Red."
I wonder what the etymological factors of this expression are.
Does this have anything to do with, say, "five-o'clock shadow"?
Sorry, I'm just being curious. |

I'd say that "Five Alarm Red" is related to the term "Five Alarm Fire" used to designate a VERY SERIOUS fire. Fire is often associated with the color red, thus the substitution of "Red" for "Fire" to describe a VERY RED finish color. |
