Hi everyone,
I just recieved my new AR300 from the guitar shop last week and I must say that I am really impressed. It feels as if it would last a lifetime and I think it is worth every every penny of the $629 that I spent. It looks elegant and feels solidly constructed. The flamed maple stripes are much more prominent than I imagined from looking at pictures online.

I don't have much experience with mahogany guitars and I have been playing a hollowbody recently but when I first plugged in the AR300 I thought one of my effects pedals was still operating. The wood resonates so well. Once the intonation was set the sound was suprisingly smooth and always sounds in tune. I've got to really try to get a bad sound out of this guitar. Anyway, I'll post some pics below.

I was wondering if any of you have experience with the new ARX300 that came out this year. It seems to be based upon the AR design but is much less expensive. If it is anything like my AR300 then it would be a steal.

aah very nice flash,

congrats, i bought one back in dec 05 and i was very happy with it as well, really good build quality and a great player. the arx300 from what im told at my ibanez dealer is built in china. thus the good price tag. funkle done a review on one of the ne ones, the single cutaway if im not mistaken which was also made in china. if you page through some of the older forums youll find it im sure.

i really like how your burst is done, i prefer it to mine actually.

cheers and enjoy

Pimp/Dagger,

I have the ARC300. Which I imagine is pretty much the same deal as the ARX. The ARX horns are just a little too Pointy for my tastes, but something about the ARC captured my interest.

I have to say, it is one well crafted guitar, on the outside anyway. Triple bound body and neck, even the BACK of the headstock has a pinstripe binding.

The fret ends and fretboard edge were a little sharp, but after a few hours under the Dremel, it now feels like a prestige. It has new pickups and a switchcraft jack too.

And get this: I like it better than my '81 AR100CST. The neck profile is identical, but the ARC is lighter and sounds better, and the binding is so crisp looking!

For around $300 for an ARC300 or ARX300, there's really no reason not to get one. I'm just hoping they come out with a Custom version :-)

The new AR300's are really a seductive remake of the originals. Whenever I see one I have to force myself to NOT buy one just to fool around with...and probably modify/upgrade where needed.

Are any of you guys tempted like that?
