The Blue Book says it's worth $600 in 60% condition. Made in 1998 only.

Forget the bluebook, compare this guitar to the s5400 and you will see the only differences are in the inlay work and pickups. The s5400 was one of the most expensive Ibanez ever, prior to 1997. Trust me, I have 16 Ibanez electrics, and I used my s2540 last night from 6 pm until 1:30 am, and I can't put it down. Even if it is production and not "j custom", it is one of the few ways to get a high quality Ibanez for a low price. In five to ten years, these models made for only one year will be coveted too.

Actually, my point was that it did look like a great buy, going by the book.
